Pair of Victorian Sterling Silver Entree Dishes

Pair of fine quality early Victorian sterling silver entree dishes by Creswick & Co, Sheffield 1846.  Cushion shaped with applied scroll and acanthus borders and beautifully chased fruiting vine handles.  Engraved with a coat of arms on one side for Cowan, with motto "sic itur in altum" (This is the way to heaven), and engraved on the other side with a coat of arms for Christie (Scotland), with motto "sic viresco" (Thus I flourish).  13" x 10" (33 x 25.4cm), 130.7 troy oz. (4066g).
