Large Edwardian Sterling Silver Inkstand

A large antique Edwardian sterling silver inkstand by Walker & Hall, hallmarked Sheffield 1901-03.  Regency style, rectangular frame with scrolling acanthus handles and feet, shell and gadroon borders, two cut glass ink bottles with hinged silver covers, two pen wells, and a taperstick.  (the base hallmarked for 1901, the taperstick and bottle mounts 1903).  Inscribed with two family crests for Cozens-Hardy and presentation inscription: "Presented to Sydney Cozens-Hardy Esq LLB as a token of esteem & regard/ from the officials of the Norwich School Board, on its dissolution. 30th September 1903".  13" (33cm) across, 7.25" (18.4cm) deep, 27.5 ozt (856g) weighable.

*A member of the prominent Cozens-Hardy family of Norfolk, Sydney Cozens-Hardy was a solicitor in Norwich, the eponymous firm he started in 1877 is still in business today.
