An early Victorian silver candle snuffer and tray, the tray hallmarked London 1839 by Robert Garrard II, the snuffer London 1840 by specialist snuffer maker Thomas Radcliffe. The tray with applied shell and scroll border, engraved with a crest and Baron's coronet. The snuffers with applied shell and acanthus decoration, spring loaded "cutter", and engraved with a pair of crests. Length of tray 10" (25.4cm), total weight 15.9 ozt (496g).
