A superb quality Victorian sterling silver claret jug by Charles Edwards, hallmarked for London 1883. The cut crystal body is oval on circular pedestal foot, the top half cut and engraved with a bird, butterfly, flowers and foliage in the Aesthetic style, the bottom half cut with diamond shaped facets. Set with sterling silver collar, lid, handle and foot pierced and chased with scrolls and foliage. 12" (30.5cm) high.
