Hugh Percy was an important aristocrat: Member of the Order of the Garter, Member of parliament for Buckingham, Chancellor of the University of Cambridge, and Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. He was also a well-known and important client of Rundell's, having purchased many of their most important pieces including one of 5 casts of the shield of Achilles, and a bronze copy of the Portland vase which is still on view at Cambridge.
