A rare set of six fine quality George III silver sauce tureens by Paul Storr, hallmarked for London 1802. Neoclassical style, oval bodies on pedestal bases with tau-shaped handles, gadroon borders, the domed lids with acanthus capped loop handles. Four are engraved on the body and lid with the Milne family crest: galley with oars erect, and motto: "Dat Cura Commodum" (Vigilance ensures advantage). Two are engraved on the body and lid with the Lindsay family crest: tent with stars, and motto: "Astra Castra" (The Stars The Camp). The dishes are numbered 1 through 6 on the bodies and lids. 9" (22.9cm) across the handles, 5.75" (14.6cm) high, 140.4 troy oz (4367g).
