A fine quality and exceptionally heavy Edwardian sterling silver tea service by Joseph Gloster Ltd, hallmarked Birmingham 1908. The set includes a teapot, coffee pot, cream jug, sugar bowl, and a kettle-on-stand. Baluster shaped vessels with scroll handles and spouts, with repoussé decoration in Rococo revival style, engraved with a family crest. Height of kettle 12.75" (32.4cm), total weight 178.6 troy oz (5553g).
