Victorian Silver Horseshoe Vesta Case

A fine quality Victorian silver Vesta Case/ wick holder by Howard James, hallmarked Birmingham 1878. In the form of a horseshoe, with double hinged lid and striker. A spur-form wheel to one side to extend the wick, engraved with a crest and garter with motto "reason contents me", and engraved with a monogram RG. 2.25" (5.8cm), 1.5 ozt (48g).
