A pair of large and fine quality George IV sterling silver candlesticks by Creswick & Co, hallmarked Sheffield 1825*. Regency style, campana shaped sockets on tapered fluted columns and circular bases with beautiful acanthus, shell and scroll borders. 11.5" (29.2cm) high, 5.5" (14cm) diameter at the base.

*Based on the style, and the appearance of a maker's mark in use from 1819-1827, it is most likely the date letter is an upside-down b for 1825, rather than q for 1836.
