A fine quality, heavy American sterling silver chalice by Louis D. Hupfeld, Baltimore c. 1960. Circular bowl on knopped tapering pedestal foot, with applied Celtic Cross and Du Pont logo on the foot. With gilt interior and hammered finish. Inscribed on the underside "Rev. George P. McCLoskey June 11, 1960", and "Presented to Me by Mother, Father, Brother and Sisters on the Occasion of My Ordination. 4.5"(11.4cm) diameter at the top, 7.75" (19.7cm) high, 28.2 oz (878g).
