An Edwardian sterling silver Armada pattern claret jug or (wine ewer) by Charles Clement Pilling, hallmarked London 1903. Baluster shaped on pedestal foot with trigger-action scroll handle. The body embossed and chased in high relief with scrolls, foliage and flowers, and applied with demi-figures of mermen and mermaids and a leopard's head mask. 12.5" (31.8cm) high, 30.4 troy oz (945g).
