A George III sterling silver chamberstick, probably by John Carter II. The body hallmarked London 1787 (no maker's mark, the nozzle and snuffer marked IC, London 1789). Circular form with applied reeded border, removable nozzle and snuffer. Engraved with a family crest on the snuffer. 7" (17.8cm) across, 9.9 roy oz (309g).
