An Italian .916 silver (11 denari) sauce tureen and underplate, Kingdom of Sardinia c. 1815-1824. In the French Empire style, circular with domed lid and fruit finial on pedestal foot, with applied lion's head handles, chased leaf motifs and die-stamped borders.  5.4"(13.6cm) diameter of the sauce tureen, 8"(20.4cm) diameter of the underplate, 5.5" (14cm) high, total weight 23.4 troy oz (728g).
