A magnificent Old Sheffield Plate soup tureen on stand, Sheffield c. 1840 by Waterhouse Hatfield & Co. Square lobed body with domed lid, removable liner and acanthus capped legs on a circular platform stand with shell feet and handles. Engraved with a marital coat of arms for Sullivan (and another unknown family) and mounted with heraldic sterling silver handle in the form of a lions paw holding a fleur-de-lis hallmarked for London 1842 by John Figg. 15" high.
