An early Victorian sterling silver castle top card case by Nathaniel Mills, hallmarked Birmingham 1841. Rectangular with scrolling edge, beautifully chased and embossed with scrolling foliage, the centre embossed with a scene of Windsor Castle on the front and of Abbotsford House on the back. Engraved MEH, 3 7⁄8" (10cm) x 2.75" (7cm). Abbotsford House is a historic country house in Scotland, on the south bank of the River Tweed. It was formerly the residence of historical novelist and poet Sir Walter Scott. Windsor Castle is a residence of the British royal family in Windsor. \n \n
