An early Victorian sterling silver teapot by Benjamin Smith III, hallmarked London 1848, with retail mark of "B Smith Duke Street Lin'n Inn Fields". Lobed baluster shaped, engraved with ornate foliage, acanthus, and scroll decoration. With foliage-capped scroll handle, hinged lid, and pomegranate finial. Engraved with a family crest on the side. Length of teapot handle to spout 9.75" (24.8cm), capacity of teapot 5.5 cups (1375ml), total weight 22.7 troy oz (705g)
