A fine quality antique Indian silver tea set and tray from Kashmir c. 1880. Tilted spherical shape based on the form of a kang with serpent handles on a trefoil shaped tray. Superb flat-chased decoration throughout in the the shawl pattern with serpents and rosettes. 13" (33cm) across, 59.6 troy oz (1854g).
