Elkington Sterling Silver Teapot

A Victorian sterling silver teapot by Elkington & Co (Frederick Elkington), hallmarked Birmingham 1871. Lobed tapered cylindrical form with hinged lid, engraved with ornate foliage and floral decoration. Engraved with a family crest and motto "Per Mare Per Terras" (By sea and by land", on one side, and with a coat of arms on the other. Height 9.5" (24.1cm), capacity of teapot 4 cups (1000ml), total weight 24.8 troy oz (771g)
