A George III sterling silver meat platter (or serving platter) by William Fountain, hallmarked London 1805. Oval with gadroon border, engraved with two family crests: a griffin with motto "Impero" (Order), and another, the family crest of clan Stewart, a pelican with motto "Virescit vulnere virtus" (Courage grows strong at a wound). 16" x 11 3⁄8" (33 x 24.1cm), 38.8 troy oz (1206g).
