A German .800 silver basket by Karl Sohnlein and Sohne, Hanau c. 1900. Pierced oblong body embossed with scrolls, flowers, foliage and putti. The centre embossed in high relief with scenes of figures jumping rope and dancing. 12" (30.5cm) across, 12.25" (28.6cm) across, 15.3 oz (476g).
