A fine George III Irish sterling silver sugar basket by George West, Dublin 1795 . Neoclassical style, boat shaped with reeded swing handle and border on pedestal base, gilt interior. Engraved with garlands, swags, a script monogram G and a family crest. 7.9" (20cm) high to top of handle, 7.9 troy oz (248g).
