A fine quality Regency period sterling silver tea set by Samuel Hennell, hallmarked London 1811. Circular, half-fluted bodies with applied acanthus decoration, on pedestal feet. The cream and sugar with flying scroll handles and gilt interiors, engraved with a monogram JS and the Simpson crest and motto "Alis Nutrior" (I am fed by birds). Teapot is 11.25" (28.6cm) handle to spout, capacity of teapot 5.5 cups (1300ml) total weight 53.2 troy oz (1655g).
