Sampson Mordan Silver Place Card Holder

An Edwardian novelty silver place card holder (or menu holder) by Sampson Mordan Co., hallmarked Chester 1905. Modelled as an owl with original glass eyes. Inscribed "HMS Dominion"* and stamped with a design registration number, 1.25" (3.1cm) diameter, 1.25" (3.1cm) high.

* HMS Dominion was a King Edward VII-class battleship of the Royal Navy, launched in 1903.
