A fine quality George IV sterling silver cake basket by Robert Gainsford, hallmarked Sheffield 1826. Shaped oval form on pedestal base with acanthus capped swing handle. Applied with gadroon border. Engraved with a family crest on the cartouche on the handle. 11" (28cm) high to top of handle, 13.75" (35cm) across, 39.1 troy oz (1217g).
