A late Victorian sterling silver comport (or dessert stand) by Harrison Brothers & Howson, hallmarked Sheffield 1898. Pierced body in shaped oblong form with everted rim, with embossed scroll and foliage decoration, applied bead and scroll borders, on spreading pedestal foot. 12.5" (31.8cm) diameter, 3.4" (8.7cm) high, 20.1 troy oz (627g).
